Re-admission for Discontinued F-1 International Students

Taken time off from school? Reapply for admission to HCC as an international student.

If you are a F-1 international student with a HCC ID but have not enrolled in classes for the last three consecutive semesters (fall, spring, summer), you can pick up where you left by reapplying for admission.

We’ll walk you through the steps of re-admission here:

  1. Reactivate your student account
  2. Complete your re-admissions checklist item/application
  3. Complete the SEVIS Form I-20 application

Read on for more details.

Steps for F-1 Student Re-admissions

  1. Reactivate Your Student Account

Your first step is to visit the student system below and follow the online instructions to regain access to your student account.

  2. Complete Your Re-admissions Checklist

After signing into your account, you will see a message to "Reapply for Admission" under My Checklists. This is your re-admissions to-do list.

On your to-do list, you will be assigned a task with a link to the Apply Texas application (www.applytexas.org) and a unique verification code to enter in the biographical section. This code will ensure that you maintain the same ID and all previous records will be reflected on your updated application.

  3. Submit Your SEVIS Form I-20

The re-admission will not complete the F1 application process. You still need to complete and save the SEVIS Form I-20 Application as a PDF file and send it as an attachment to oiss.international@hccs.edu.

In your email, make sure to write your HCC ID number and your F1 classification (NEW, TRANSFER, CHANGE OF STATUS or CONCURRENT) in the subject line to identify your F-1 student type so you can be assigned the appropriate F-1 checklist.
