Steps for Returning Student Admissions
-
Reactivate Your Student Account
Your first step is to visit the student system below and follow the online instructions to regain access to your student account.
-
Access the Student System & Complete Your Re-admissions Checklist
After signing into your account, you will see a message to "Reapply for Admission" under My Checklists. This is your re-admissions to-do list.
On your To-do list, you will be assigned a task with a link to the Apply Texas application (www.applytexas.org) and a unique verification code to enter in the biographical section. This code will ensure that you maintain the same ID and all previous records will be reflected on your updated application.
Your To-do list may have four additional types of checklist items: policy, onboarding/pre-enrollment; financial aid; or other. To avoid delays in the processing of your application, make sure to complete all your checklist items, which may include:
- Submitting your transcripts, if you attended another institution
- Providing your proof of vaccination for meningitis
- Completing the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) test or submitting your TSI test scores, if you took the test somewhere other than HCC
Your Enrollment Checklist
In the student system, choose the "My Checklists" menu to see which steps you need to complete. Your checklist will guide you through your next steps — like submitting documents and completing requirements, as well as registering for New Student Orientation if you did not attend one previously — so you’re ready to register for classes.
-
Meet with Your Advisor
After completing all of your checklists, please meet with an HCC Academic Advisor to discuss long-term goals, your program plan, and placement in reading, writing, and math.
TSI College Placement Test
Your advisor may ask you to complete the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) College Readiness Requirements to help determine which classes you should take.
-
Choose and Register for Classes
After you've discussed your program plan and class placements with your advisor, you can register for classes in the student system.
