From college to career!: Tearriyona Tynes, Respiratory Therapy, Class of 2025, is starting career as a respiratory therapist with Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center.

HCC has announced that Dr. Lisa Alcorta has joined HCC as vice chancellor of student services, effective Aug. 18, 2025.

It had been eight years since Clariza Reyes fully finished a semester in college, and after one semester at HCC, the 28-year-old Interior Design student is now a Gucci Changemaker. While taking part in HCC’s Interior Design program over the Spring 2025 semester, Reyes applied for the renowned fashion designer company’s Gucci Changemakers Scholarship and was selected as one of just 10 scholarship recipients – the only Gucci Changemaker from a community college.

The HCC team is excited about a new development that affords HCC graduates and former students the opportunity to maintain existing and foster new connections.

When the doors for registration open, Dr. Laura Jakubowski’s HCC chemistry classes fill up in a hurry. That’s because students who share intel on professors know what to expect: an educator who treats students warmly, listens closely to their questions and finds creative ways to make even the most complex concepts click.

HCC Emergency Medical Services program has been recognized as the top EMS education program in Texas, according to a comprehensive analysis of 2024 National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
