The Associate of Arts in Dance at Houston City College prepares students for dance careers or transfer to four-year programs. Students develop technique in African, ballet, jazz, and modern dance; study choreography; and gain performance experience in a supportive environment led by professional faculty and guest artists. This program prepares students for a wide range of translator, interpreter, and localization specialist positions across corporate, nonprofit, medical, legal, and technical fields. Graduates gain the linguistic, cultural, and professional skills needed to provide accurate, high-quality translation and interpretation services. Students may also use their training to launch their own freelance business and work independently with clients in diverse industries.
