The Automotive Technology program prepares students for in-demand careers in today’s rapidly evolving transportation industry. Blending hands-on training with a strong technical foundation, the program covers modern vehicle systems including engines, drivetrains, electrical and electronic systems, diagnostics, and emerging automotive technologies.

Automotive Technology - Technician, A.A.S.
The Automotive Center of Excellence offers high-tech training using state-of-the-art instruction, the latest technology and equipment that prepares technicians to troubleshoot complex issues and make repairs.

Specialized classroom and practical lab work experiences are used to prepare students for a long career in the automotive repair industry. Since this program is designed to prepare graduates for a career in the Automotive Repair Industry, personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools are expected to be purchased by students in order to perform routine class and laboratory assignments.
Students receiving their Level 1 Certificates or an AAS degree can look forward to a variety of employment opportunities in the automotive industry as repair technicians, service writers, service managers, shop foreman, and/or business owners. In addition, please note that a student may only earn one Occupational Skills Award (OSA) per academic year.
TSI testing required prior to first enrollment for all AAS degrees and Level II certificates.
The Automotive Technician Program is accredited by the ASE Education Foundation in Maintenance and Light Repair. Founded in 1983 as an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3)organization the mission of the ASE Education Foundation is to improve the quality of automotive technician training programs nationwide at secondary and post-secondary, public and proprietary schools. To accomplish this mission ASE examines the structure, resources and quality of training programs and evaluates them against standards established by the industry. These standards reflect the skills that students must master to be successful in the industry.
