The Engineering program at Houston City College allows students to complete the first two years of a four-year engineering degree before transferring to a university. With the addition of two Engineering Academies, students also have the opportunity to be co-enrolled with university partners while completing their foundational coursework.

Engineering Science, A.S.
The HCC Engineering program makes it possible for students to complete the first two years of a four-year engineering degree at HCC and then transfer to the university of their choice to complete their engineering degree in a number of engineering fields. With the addition of two Engineering Academies, students also have an opportunity to be co-enrolled with university partners simultaneously. Students may earn one Associate of Science in one of the five Fields of Studies by completing the requirements for the chosen specialization.
Students may earn an Associate of Science in one of the Fields of Study below by completing the requirements for the chosen specialization. Students must complete 60 credits to complete the Associate of Science degree in one of the following fields.
- Engineering Science - Computer Engineering, A.S.
- Engineering Science - Chemical Engineering, A.S.
- Engineering Science - Civil Engineering, A.S.
- Engineering Science - Electrical Engineering, A.S.
- Engineering Science - Mechanical Engineering, A.S.

Engineering Pathways to Other Universities
‌Houston City College and the University of Texas at Tyler have partnered to create an innovative, four-year Engineering Degree program at the UT Tyler Houston Engineering Center (HEC), which is located on the HCC Alief Hayes Campus.
Co-enroll at HCC and the Texas A&M University College of Engineering.
Take the first two years of courses at HCC and then transfer to the University of Houston to complete an engineering degree. Apply to the UH/HCC Engineering Academy, and be co-enrolled with UH simultaneously
