HCC invites prospective students and families to Eagle Preview Day on Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at select HCC campuses across the district.

When Marisabel Morales sent her model down the runway at the 10th annual Fashion Fusion competition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, she made history. Morales, a student in HCC's award-winning Fashion Design program, became the first student to construct a fully 3D-printed gown––and the only designer at “Fashion Fusion X” to present a garment created entirely through 3D printing. The show on Jan. 30 paid tribute to the legendary artist Frida Kahlo.

Each year the Houston chapter of the American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Health hosts a professional seminar, exhibit and social allowing members of the architectural and healthcare communities to network and showcase trends and the future of design in health architecture.

HCC continues to elevate its Smart Building Technology program with the recent donation of three Pan Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) cameras from J-Tech Digital, Inc. As a woman of Mexican descent, Tanya Roche always felt drawn to the esteemed artist Frida Kahlo, known for her self-portraits of pain, passion and vibrant colors. Roche, a 47-year-old HCC Fashion Design student, originally from Queens, New York, used to buy clothing and dress like the famous artist in different phases of her life.

The five-module series, which began Jan. 16, guided nearly 60 entrepreneurs and small business owners through a comprehensive journey of validating their business idea to achieve sustainable growth and long-term success.

All Houston City College campuses will be open for regularly scheduled classes on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
